Dylan was born and raised in Jonesborough and graduated from David Crockett High School. Dylan was saved at age 7 and baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Johnson City. It was at that time Dylan already knew God had laid a special calling on his life. Dylan and his family came to New Victory in 2005. Dylan then served at NVBC as the Sound Director from October 2011 to October 2014. Though running sound was Dylan’s hobby he still knew something was missing. In the summer of 2012 Dylan received an opportunity to go on a mission trip to Lisa, Romania. Through that mission trip God showed Dylan his calling. So after much prayer in October of 2012 Dylan fully surrendered to the calling of ministry. Prior to New Victory Dylan was the youth minister at Erwin First Baptist. Dylan was ordained by New Victory Baptist Church on February 7th of 2016. If you were to ask Dylan what New Victory means to him, he would simply say its home. Dylan holds a seminary degree in Biblical Studies from Andersonville Theological Seminary. Dylan has been the Student Pastor at NVBC since July 2016 and enjoys discipling young people, spending time with family, and being outdoors.
Byron Tolley grew up in Gray, TN and was saved at the age of 13. He now lives in Telford with his wonderful wife Holly, beautiful daughter Sophie and their two dogs, Maddie and Daisy. He has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from ETSU and is currently teaching at Westview Elementary School. Byron became interested and actively involved in music at the age of 17 and as time passed he began to feel God calling him to use music as a ministry. Byron is a tremendously gifted singer & musician, but he would be the first to tell you that his #1 passion is the Lord Jesus and leading folks to worship Him.
As Byron leads God’s people in worship each week at New Victory, folks are instantly gripped by his humble spirit and passion for what he does. Andrew Murray once said “Humility is the displacement of self by the enthronement of God. People who know Byron could confidently attach Murray’s quote to the type of person that Byron is. God has blessed him with opportunities to lead worship in various churches and at various events in the area. Byron’s greatest desire in music ministry is to see God glorified and to join others in worshipping Him. Byron’s prayer for his life and ministry can be found in John 3:30: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” He feels very blessed to serve with such a wonderful church family at New Victory. New Victory is blessed to have Byron Tolley.
